History

The Lockwood brand was introduced with the establishment of Ogden Industries in 1934 by John Stanley Ogden, manufacturer of padlocks of supreme quality and other locking devices.

Over the years, Ogden industries were acquired by an Adelaide Steamship company, National Consolidated limited.

In 1993, Ogden Industries was acquired by Email limited incorporating the Efco & Lockwood brands. The next milestone in the company’s history was the amalgamation of Whitco, Lockwood and Efco with the parent company, Lockwood Australia Limited, in 1995.

In 1999, ASSA ABLOY bought a 50% share of Lockwood Australia, forming a new entity. 

Two years later in 2001 the group assumed full ownership resulting in making Lockwood the star in ASSA ABLOY’s Asia Pacific crown.

In January 2005, Lockwood Security products formally became ASSA ABLOY and celebrated its 75^th anniversary of meeting the market need for convenience and flexibility. In the same year Lockwood also launched its new product name; MTS, developed by the expert ASSA ABLOY R&D team addressing clients security requirements worldwide.

Electromechanical solutions: electromechanical and electronic products are the best alternative for greater convenience and higher security over traditional mechanical products.

Padlocks and Outdoor Security: Lockwood stocks an extensive range of commercial and residential padlocks of high quality right from small letterbox locks to high security marine grade locks.

Keying Platforms: Wide ranged key platform is also available at Lockwood.
