Our Only Local Manufacturer

Caroma is Australia’s one and only manufacturer of sanitaryware and employs over 2000 Australians nationwide. The company operates state-of-the-art facilities in Wetherill Park, NSW, and Norwood, SA, employing the latest in technology and robotics to produce innovative, market leading, water-saving products. Caroma’s products meet relevant Australian Standards, WELS certification and Codes of Practice for new build and retrofit projects.

Not to forget, of course, that Caroma was the first to invent the world’s first dual flush toilet system (the classic half flush and full flush). Since then, the company has always continued to develop world class toilet suits, urinals and tapware that touch the earth lightly.  

Caroma’s award-winning Smartflush® technology has developed over a decade to always set the benchmark in toilet suite innovation. Smartflush® systems have proven to save up to 35,000 litres of water a year (as opposed to standard 11L single flush systems), in a water saving toilet suite with outstanding performance and alluring aesthetics.

Awards and Accolades

Caroma has always been recognized over the years by a multitude of industry bodies and awards. Here is a snapshot of a recent few:

2009 Australian Design Award - Caroma Invisi Series II Toilet Suite: the toilet took out the revered 2009 Australian Design Award for its unique design and innovation in the Housing and Building Category. The Invisi Series II surpassed all other in-wall systems for its water saving technology, easy installation and appeal to both the commercial and domestic market. 

2007 Australian Design Award - Caroma H2Zero™ Cube Urinal: the urinal won the inaugural Award for Excellence in Sustainable Design at the Australian Design Awards out of a shortlist of 32 entries. The Caroma H2Zero™ Cube Urinal was singled out for its breakthrough design that distinguished itself as the world’s first truly viable and sustainable waterless urinal. The H2Zero™ Cube Urinal uses cartridge technology with a one-way, airtight valve to seal the urinal from the drainage system - eliminating the need for chemical based seals used traditionally with waterless urinals. The urinal also took out the Australian Design Award for Excellence in Australian Design in the Housing and Building category and was nominated for Australian Design Award of the year.
