The surfaces on which we walk can affect our body in many ways, particularly our legs and knees. For this reason it is increasingly important to install flooring that minimise the impact of wear and tear on joints and muscles as well as reducing the risk of slip. Comcork Flooring aims for just that; with their strong, ecologically sustainable flooring containing 70% recycled cork. Comcork is in fact the only Australian manufactured resilient flooring which is GECA certified. GECA is the Green Star certification body for Australian Building products.
Boasting a unique combination of cork and rubber, Comcork Flooring is userfriendly, flexible and durable, whilst providing comfort plus slip and chemical resistance. These characteristics greatly suit the needs of aged care, child care, education, fitness and leisure, hospitality, transport and many marine facilities, where there could be the possibility of people slipping.
Soft underfoot and flexible, Comcork is able to tolerate vibrations and movement such as those experienced on the floor in public transport vehicles. The unique properties of cork provide excellent acoustic and thermal properties, and when combined with rubber, produces a flooring with superior slip resistance, as well as being suitable for many heavy duty indoor or outdoor applications.
Due to the appeal of flooring that provides extra comfort, quietness, cushioning and safety, Comcork Floorings have already been installed at a number of prestigious projects, including the public buses for the NSW State Transit Authority, areas within the Melbourne Palais Theatre, plus the Victoria Water Police main vessel. It is also an accredited product for use in all NSW government buildings. Comcork Flooring products are made in various surface profiles to suit any number of situations. All profiles are made from the same carefully blended cork, including recycled wine corks and rubber ingredients. All profiles provide excellent slip resistance, particularly Aquadeck which is typically installed on external ramps
or in various external marine applications.
Available in a range of 31 modern colours, Comcork’s unique texture and colouring can suit any décor. This is all part of Comcork’s endeavour to provide a completely natural and “green” flooring experience. Comcork Flooring comes in large sheets measuring 1800 x 900mm, at a price of approximately $110 AUD per square metre, including installation. Comcork is manufactured in Australia by Logic Australia and sold nationally and international through a distributor network. With its diverse range of applications, unique recycled and sustainable raw materials, Comcork Flooring is becoming the flooring of choice for architects and designers.
