In the decades since its establishment in 1930, Hettich International has built itself a well-deserved reputation for producing quality and innovative products that vastly improve kitchen efficiency whilst maintaining a strong focus on the traditional. Central to Hettich’s work is the idea of smart kitchens, ones that feature hidden elements behind the fronts to support and complement the overall kitchen. Hettich are the undeniable leader in matching form and function of kitchens to achieve a stunning result not limited to the façade but which goes beyond.
This intention to manufacture the so-called smart kitchen is evidenced by Hettich’s new hinge with integrated Silent System dampening, Sensys, winner of the 2008 Red Dot International Design Award and the 2009 iF Product Design Award. Made from high grade steel, the Silent System dampening mechanism is hidden within the hinge, with a stylish cover cap to disguise the hinge cup from the outside, concealing fixing screws and adjusters. The regulated and gentle closing style of Sensys is effortless and consistent, adding to the easy nature of the product, and the integrated dampening means that there is no need for any additional dampening adaptors.
Available for all main opening styles, including 110-degree hinges, wide-angle hinges, W30, W45 and W90 hinges, the hinge can also be used on aluminiumframed doors. There exists a narrow reveal of just 4mm, available also on sharp edged furniture doors in thicknesses of up to 22mm, which is advantageous to kitchen and furniture manufacturers seeking that sleek design. For the best hinge with integrated dampening, Sensys just makes sense.
Having suitable storage space also makes sense, and Hettich’s InnoTech drawers are just the solution. These drawers can be personally customised, either within the drawer itself, on the front panel or along the side panels. An array of finishes, sizes, accents and accessories are available, with the new DesignSide panels an example of the various possibilities, being obtainable in clear or any 6mm material desired, such as glass, stone or timber. InnoTech drawers themselves are available in 5
different modern colours. DesignSide works beautifully with Hettich’s huge range of storage and divider elements, with jars and separators designed to store, organise and secure items within the drawer as well as maximise the space available.
With their continuing contribution in design, Hettich looks sure to remain the head honcho leading the way of the industry in kitchen innovation and intelligence.
