Since the launch of the DC01, the first ever Dyson Dual Cyclone™ bagless vacuum cleaner in the UK in 1993, the Dyson name has become synonymous with cutting-edge vacuum technology, setting global market trends year after year. Now 15 years later, Dyson is proud to introduce the latest additions to this celebrity family: the DC21 Motorhead and DC16 Motorhead handheld.

Designed with ease of use and the best clean in mind, the new additions combine Dyson’s famous Radix Cyclone™ technology with the new Motorhead feature: an independently motorised brush bar to devour deeply ingrained dirt and dust, remove pet hair and kids’ mess, and scour every last speck of lint from the carpet. “When we were developing the motorhead we looked at how everyday dirt was picked up by using a camera that can take 40,000 frames per second - that’s 1600 times the number of frames your home video plays,” says James Dyson, inventor and head of Dyson worldwide. “This meant we could finely tune the brush bar to pick up the most elusive dirt”.

Dyson vacuum cleaners rose to international fame on the back of James Dyson’s patented cyclone technology, which spins dirt, dust and debris out of the air and into the bin using centrifugal force, which doesn’t clog and doesn’t lose suction like traditional bagged vacuum cleaners, or bagless models that rely on a central filter to trap dirt and dust. Furthermore, with no bags to buy and lifetime filters there is practically no maintenance.

The head of the DC21 Motorhead, originally developed for Dyson’s upright cleaners utilises ball-like design for maximum manoeuvrability across any floor surface and around tricky furniture. The DC21 also features the Dyson Telescopic wrap for easy carrying and storage, on-board tools for easy access, and a HEPA and Bactisafe™ filter for a superior filtration efficiency of 99.9999%, so the expelled air contains 150 times less mould and bacteria than the air we breathe. Combined with Dyson’s constant testing regime, this has seen the DC21 Motorhead join all Dyson vacuum cleaners in the National Asthma Council of Australia’s ‘Sensitive Choice’ program.

The DC16 Motorhead handheld is ideal for those after a more robust spot clean of pet hairs and stubborn fibres from carpets, couches and cars, or for tidying up crumbs and spills with the clip-on combination tool. The DC16 Motorhead offers a motorised brush bar, twice the suction power of other handhelds, 3 times faster recharge, hygienic bin emptying, and of course the Dyson Radix Cyclone™ technology for continuous suction.

When nothing less than perfection will do, Dyson’s DC21 Motorhead and DC16 Motorhead handheld promise the cleanest clean, every single time.
