Ausco Modular has been building learning centres and schools for more than forty-five years. Over this time they have developed a suite of quite specific education products.
Ausco Modular’s Learning Centre design offers excellent value for money, and can incorporate 2.7 metre high ceilings, two-tone external claddings and extended verandah areas. Ausco Modular’s Vertex facilities incorporate a high raked ceiling, unique clerestory roof sections, innovative external claddings and cantilevered verandah sections, while Ausco Modular’s custom-designed classrooms vary from budget solutions for urgent projects to architecturally designed, long-term structures.
In 2004, Ausco Modular was appointed a key partner of the Queensland Government’s Prep program, one of the largest capital works programs in Queensland education involving a state-wide roll-out of 500 classrooms. The design of the new Prep classroom was based on Ausco Modular’s existing Vertex design. A key design consideration for the Prep classroom was a sense of permanence, and a need to blend in with existing school infrastructure. The Education Department worked with Ausco Modular and their NATA-accredited research facility to finalise the design and product selection, to achieve an architectural look externally and a durable interior.
A new addition to the Ausco Modular range is Kwikspace Corporate Office, an innovative office design and construction solution. Kwikspace provides the sort of architectural styling and sleek modern finishes that you would expect from a modern office building. However the Kwikspace concept is also about flexibility, with every building being designed from the ground-up to suit the operational requirements of individual businesses. Kwikspace bridges the traditional separation between design and construction by providing a single point of contact for the entire process, ensuring certain outcomes.
Based on extensive research, Kwikspace utilises a unique Off-Site Construction™ methodology. This allows site preparation and building construction to take place simultaneously, halving the standard time of completion. With Off-Site Construction™, the noise and inconvenience of construction is kept at arm’s length.
An environmental focus is centrally important across all of Ausco Modular’s building range. Ausco Modular’s buildings can be customised to exceed the energy consumption currently allowed for in the Building Code of Australia. The celestrial windows in Ausco Modular’s Vertex range, for example, offer passive cooling technology, minimising the demand for power consumed in air conditioning. Ausco Modular harvest and recycle the water used in their operations, recycle the waste materials from their manufacturing process, and ensure building materials are sourced from environmentally-conscious and recognised suppliers whenever possible.
