Galvin engineering has been manufacturing fire fighting equipment in Australia for over forty years. Being an ISO 9001 quality endorsed factory, GE incorporates a modern ferrous & non ferrous foundry combined with an advanced machine shop to ensure they adhere to the strict certifications. Furthermore, Galvin Engineering’s ranges of products are continuously developing with the combined assistance from relevant government authorities such as FESA, fire consulting engineers and installers.

Galvin Engineering manufactures fire products to suit the codes and standards in all states of Australia, ensuring easy installation with the various methods of connections for each of the regions. Vandalism and damage to the fire equipment can be minimized by installing supplementary equipment such as GE’s tamper resistant fire hydrant covers and fire hydrant riser protection bollards. Galvin Engineering’s hydrant boosters can also be purchased with tough powder coated cabinets for extra protection from vandalism and the elements.

Used for over 40 years, ‘F’ Series fixed fire hose reels and ‘G’ series swing out fire hose reels with either the flexible water way, or the unique fixed water way are all manufactured in Australia. Furthermore, situations in which harsh environments are unavoidable, Galvin Engineering are able to provide Stainless Steel fixed hose reels to ensure reliability and longevity. This combined with a range of powder coated zinc anneal steel cabinets for recessed and exposed applications and caravan park stands & shields, ensure that GE cover all bases. Whether it is new facilities or renovation type projects Galvin Engineering integrate efficient, cost effective passive fire protection equipment. These systems are effective in containing, and controlling and/or and extinguishing a fire event in the early stages.

Fire protection engineers must be involved in all aspects of the design in order to ensure a reasonable degree of protection of human life from fire and the products of combustion, as well as to reduce the potential loss from fire. Galvin Engineering work closely with Hydraulic and Fire engineers to provide solutions for their designs. Projects such as the Perth Convention Centre, in which specialised fixed fire hose reels were designed with SKM Hydraulic Consultants, to RAAFA Nursing Home by Joseph Tilli at Hydraulics Design Australia. Joseph states that flexibility of design, quality and reliability for his clients are instrumental in providing more than code compliance or meeting the minimum legal responsibilities for protecting a building; that is, building and fire codes are intended to protect against loss of life and limit fire impact on the community and do not necessarily protect the mission or assets, or solve problems brought upon by new projects with unique circumstances.

Therefore, it is necessary to creatively and efficiently integrate code requirements with other fire safety measures as well as other design strategies and product design to achieve a balanced design that will provide the desired levels of safety. Galvin Engineering has done it all for you, providing fire fighting equipment all across Australia from Long Bay Prison in NSW, to Darwin’s Marina to the Albany port in WA, you can rest assured your safety rests in the most capable hands.
