BildaVoid Concrete Void Forming Systems is the only company in Australia wholly dedicated to the manufacture and distribution of concrete void forming products.

That’s lucky, because BildaVoid performs an unglamorous yet integral construction task with a value easily lost in the noise and dust of bigger and louder development project components. BildaVoid’s range of products creates a space between concrete structures and expansive soils, isolating structural concrete from threats such as reactive soil, ground movement, mine subsidence, noise, and vibration affected sites. The result: a temporary support platform for concrete placement until the structural slab sets and can support itself across drilled piers, pads, intermittent footings, or other supporting concrete work.

The magic of the BildaVoid method lies in its material composition. Placed under structural concrete, the corrugated recycled cardboard construction product – sacrificial self collapsing form work – gradually absorbs ground moisture, reduces in strength and subsequently disperses after the concrete has set. This creates a space for soil to expand without doing any structural damage.

BildaVoid provide three standard void forms in depths of 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, and 150mm, with further customization options. Cellular (formed) panels are manufactured from recycled corrugated cardboard. The interior is composed of partition cells for strength; the outer sleeve is constructed from selected corrugated cardboard giving superior point load bearing strength. They can be supplied assembled or unassembled for ease of transport. BildaVoid’s range of products are also environmentally-friendly as the product disintegrates leaving no harmful residues (unlike Polystyrene).

Semi-cellular consists of layers of recycled cardboard bundled together to the required depth. Unlike any other void form product on the market, BildVoid semicellular can be supplied cut to width to facilitate footings and beams meaning little, if any on-site cutting and reduced waste. With high load resistance and slower decomposition rates than other products, Semi-cellular makes compelling sense, and is supplied pre-assembled.

EPH FormaVoid diverges structurally from its colleagues, featuring an internal expanded paper honeycomb core with face sheets glued top and bottom. Manufactured from 400um box Board, it eagerly absorbs moisture to facilitate decomposition. BildaVoid also supplies Styrofoam® EPS (Expanded Polystyrene). A closed cell light weight rigid cellular plastic, EPS is an extremely versatile product – a very practical, economic and efficient insulation material applicable for all construction areas including stressed skin insulation sandwich panels, packaging, ceilings, roofs, walls, floors and cushioning under slab.
