Altro Timbersafe is the world’s first wood-look safety flooring – a true innovation from the inventors of safety flooring. The design won a 2007 DesignEX Product Design Award.

The Timbersafe range was developed after extensive research with designers and key design professionals from a wide range of market sectors. Combining an attractive timber design with slip resistance, Altro Timbersafe is ideal for schools, hospitals, medical surgeries, retail and other areas where a safe walking surface with a warm, non-institutional look is required.

The DesignEX judges were impressed with the six realistic finishes – pine, walnut, chestnut, oak, beech, and cherry – all utilising detailed wood graining and the authentic effect of jointed floor boards, but with none of the ongoing issues of real wood.

In addition to its attractive design, Altro Timbersafe offers designers and endusers all of the high performance features associated the Altro floorings.

Altro Timbersafe provides good wet, dry static and dynamic slip resistance, with a slip resistance rating of R10 on the Ramp Test. Its construction ensures that its slip resistance is maintained throughout the warranty of the product.

Altro Timbersafe is a non-woven polyester, cellulose, and glass fibre reinforced structure with a high quality vinyl matrix. It is finished with Altro Easyclean Maxis Technology which offers high levels of stain resistance, and resists traffic stains caused by oil residue, cleaning agents, asphalt and anti-oxidants in some types of rubber, which means that in many conditions only mopping is required to clean the floor.

Extensive independent cleaning trials and colour retention tests have proved that Altro Maxis Technology demonstrates superior performance to all other “easy maintenance” safety flooring products – which is why the floor has a twelve year life expectancy, and comes with a seven year warranty. And for all medical installations, Altro Timbersafe inhibits the growth of MRSA and VRE ensuring the most hygienic application for patients.
